Michael Fischer works on the speech immanence of sounds on saxophone, violin, soundscapes and conducted instant compositions; since the 90ies projects with artists in performance/dance, installation, soundart, experimental movie such as Marc Adrian (exp. movie), Dmitri Prigow (russ. conceptualist), Eileen Standley (video), Gerhard Rühm (Wiener Gruppe), Makiko Ito (performance/dance) a.m.o., extended collaborations with writers in experimental poetry.
In 2005 he launched the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra elaborating a specific praxis in ad-hoc conducting large improvising ensembles (icc/instant composition conducting); icc and guest-lectures for large ensembles/choir for Wien Modern, Johns Hopkins University, University for Architecture Vaduz, Rimouski/Quebec, Festival Internacional de Improvisación Madrid, a.o..
Performances in Europe, Libanon, the USA, Canada and Japan.
Since 1999 he is implementing the electro-acoustic phenomenon feedback based on a strictly analog, no-effect set-up, elaborating and making use of techniques like micro-manipulation of the pads, air-stream irritation and macro/micro-movement adjusting angel/distance to speaker and space.
